CARPENTRY

I care about craft and how our decisions for the built environment affect our lives, relationships, & world.

SAWDUST: A WORKSHOP

SAWDUST: A WORKSHOP

I had the immense pleasure of teaching Sawdust with Kate Hubbel at the Field Center in April 2024. We framed two cabins as a workshop for beginners.

We had many delightful folks who hadn’t used power tools before, and we started from the beginning, working on gaining skills with safety, introducing the myriad terms and vocabulary, and demystifying processes. Learners had the time to get familiar with the tools and then use them to bring two structures into existence!

In five days our wonderful crew gained so much confidence and left much more equipped to take on their personal projects and home diy.

Kate was an inspiration and we both are so excited about sharing more widely the skills to build and rebuild our world.

I work independently, with trusted friends, or with the best carpenter I know, my Dad! I’m available for:
